The Power of Art
Art is the humblest yet the highest form of self-expression and all one really needs is a canvas, some paint and an appropriate place to display it. It’s my first go to while decorating a space since it creates a focal point for the entire space.
We’ve moved well beyond the point of necessarily framing Picassos’ and van Gogh’s and have room to display what makes us happy and adds value to our living spaces, even if that’s just spluttering of paint (personally, I’m a huge fan, though my family may disagree)
The Drama is in the Details
Elegance is almost always understated and these little details prove how true that is.
These minuscule elements add a certain ‘wow’ factor to the busiest or even the humblest homes. Don’t be shy to invest in a couple of chic touches which reflect your personality in your immediate vicinity.
My personal favourite, since I grew up in a colonial home and my favourite thing to do before I went to sleep was counting beams as opposed to sheep.
They may be a bit tricky to balance with modernism emerging as a huge trend, but if done right, they add a touch of unparalleled vintage chic.
Think pops of colour, drapes, plants, chandeliers and art.
Hints of Gold
You have to admit, living in the Gulf manages to convert you (to a certain degree) to a gold-hue appreciator. I prefer to call my preference in gold a champagne. Nonetheless, admittedly they add a touch of luxury to any space. Of course, the idea is to never go overboard. Unless you’re legal royalty- in that case, a gold garbage bin with an LV lining is acceptable too. 😉
